College Compositions

I didn't lie, per se, but it turns out that that old red notebook also contains some writing I did into my early college years. These two fragments are much less dreary. The first one was written in the fall of 1991:

I only see her briefly
Lucky once a day
But when I do, I wish I might
see her more frequently
a spritely shape
that smiles radiant
and always stops to talk

And this was written on March 29, 1992:

"You see," she said,
"It's like this."
I smile. She explains.
"The experts say,
the doctors say,
the victims say..."
And somehow in her
explanation,
the message is lost.

Now we're getting somewhere.
